XDS SCSA / MVIP Easy Bridge Board The XDS SCSA/MVIP Bridge board offers a single chassis solution for combining MVIP and SCSA technologies. This board offers an easy bridge that enables SCSA boards and MVIP boards to be connected in the same chassis without the need for special drivers or complex software. This allows developers to utilize the best of both SCSA and MVIP technologies without the concern of hardware compatibility. The SCSA/MVIP Bridge board has two modes of operation. The static mode requires no software or drivers, and the dynamic mode allows the application to control port mapping. The SCSA/MVIP Bridge board is a full length ISA board that is SCSA compliant and enhanced MVIP-90 compliant. The board provides mapping or bridging of the MVIP-90 bus to and from the SC bus. It is also possible to map or bridge part of the MVIP-90 bus to one or more SC bus data streams. System clocks for this board may be provided from the SC bus, the MVIP bus, or from the bridge itself. Clock fall back is implemented according to SC or MVIP bus standards, depending on the clock source. The SCSA/MVIP Bridge board uses an on-board control processor. When used in the dynamic mode, this board shares the messaging with all the other XDS boards. Control messages are passed to and from the board through 2K of Dual Ported Ram which may be mapped anywhere in the 16 meg PC address space.
